Angora Rabbit Cost Calculator

How this calculator works: Rabbit prices are real asking prices from US breeder websites and listings, checked in October 2026. Care costs come from a vet-reviewed US cost guide by Chewy, updated April 2026. The adoption fee comes from the House Rabbit Society. Every figure is linked in the calculator under “How we worked it out.” All prices are in US dollars (USD). Last reviewed: October 2026.

Pick where your rabbit comes from, the breed and how many. The calculator shows a first-year cost range, what it costs each year after, and how it was worked out. For the full price research, see our Angora rabbit price guide.

How we worked it out
  • Rabbit price: lowest to highest asking prices we found on US breeder sites and classifieds in October 2026. Sources are linked in our Angora rabbit price guide. Deposits ($25 to $53) are not added, because some breeders count the deposit toward the price.
  • Adoption: the House Rabbit Society in Richmond, California, charges $50 for one rabbit or $75 for a bonded pair. That includes spay or neuter, a vet exam, a microchip and the RHDV vaccine. Other rescues set their own fees.
  • Care costs: from Chewy’s rabbit cost guide, reviewed by a veterinarian and updated April 2026. First vet visit = exam ($90 to $130) + RHDV vaccine ($30 to $100 a dose; we allow for one or two doses, because some vaccines need two to start, per the House Rabbit Society) + spay or neuter ($500 to $1,200). Setup is Chewy’s supply list (cage, litter box, bowls, carrier, toys, grooming tools, recovery food). Starter hay, vegetables, bedding and litter are left out of setup because they are counted in the yearly costs. Professional grooming is $60 a month per rabbit.
  • For a pair: rabbit price, vet care, food and grooming are doubled. Setup, litter and toys are counted once.
